Description |
Name Variations: Dang Gui Bu Xue Tang, 当归补血汤, Tangkuei Decoction to Tonify the Blood, |
Herb List: Huang Qi(K) • [Jiu Xi] Dang Gui(M) |
Commentary: This formula's goal is to prevent loss of Qi and focusing Qi inward to generate Blood. Dang Gui is washed with wine. This treats Blood xu from massive blood loss (ie postpartum) which leads to the detachment of Qi and Blood. Blood is the car while Qi is the driver. Yin fails to hold the yang and therefore yang floats upwards leading to fever and sweating. The symptoms are similar for Bai Hu Tang except Bai Hu Tang is for excess heat. This is for deficiency heat. Use Huang Qi instead of Ren Shen because we are loosing Qi at the surface and Huang Qi goes to the surface. [Song]. |
