Commentary: This formula is balanced with 3 Tonify: Shu Di Huang, Shan Zhu Yu, Shan Yao and 3 sedating: Ze Xie, Mu Dan Pi, Fu Ling. This formula was originally designed for young children with KD yin xu with delayed development, including tooth, fontanelle, language, and mobility delays. ATTACHEMENTS: 1)Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan (Liu Wei Di Huang Wan + Zhi Mu Huang Bai): nourish yin and extinguish fire, indicated for yin deficiency with fire, steaming bone, night sweats, tidal fever, night sweating, soreness pain in lumbar and knees,spermatorrhea. 2)Qi Ju Di Huang Wan (Liu Wei Di Huang Wan + Gou Qi Zi, Ju Hua): nourish Liver and Kidney , brighten eyes, indicated for Liver and Kidney yin deficiency with blurred eyes, or dry eyes, tears due to wind blowing. 3) Du Qi Wan (Liu Wei Di Huang Wan + Wu Wei Zi): nourish Kidney to absorb Qi, indicated for wheezing or retching due to K deficiency. 4)Mai Wei Di Huang Wan/ Ba Xian Chang Shou Wan (Liu Wei Di Huang Wan + Mai Dong , Wu Wei Zi): nourish Lung and Kidney, indicated for cough or wheezing due to LU KD yin deficiency. •
