.5 cun directly above the midpoint of the posterior hairline. In the depression below the spinous process of C1. [CAM] • In the depression 0.5 cun below DU-16.[36] Below C1 spinous process ( not palpable)
Needling
Type: Perpendicular    Depth:  0.5 to 1 cun
Description: Perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun.[CAM] • Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1 cun, pointing slightly inferiorly[36]
Caution: Contraindicated for moxa.[36] • Neither upward orbliquely nor deep pucture is advisable. It is near the medullary bulb in the deep layer and it's crucial to pay attention to the depth and angle[CAM]
