2 cun proximal to the superior border of the patella • In the depression on the bulge of the vastus medialis muscle, directly above SP-9 • Place the heel of right palm on the inferior border of the patient's left patella, with the fingers and thumb fully extended and the thumb at 45° to the index finger, beneath the tip of the thumb • Locate one patella's height (2 cun) above the superior border of the patella, in the tender depression directly above SP-9 • Find distance of knee cap, then go up an equal distance and then 45 degrees medially. |
