Commentary: Da Huang can remove any excess, including blood stasis • Zhe Chong (Tu Bie Chong) break through hardness • Shui Zhi is leech and is an anticoagulant • Gan Qi is dry paint, which is a tree sap for furniture painting, breaks up stasis • Mang Chong is horse fly and also anticoagulant • Ji Cao is soil grub which digs through stasis. Huang Qin clears heat, drys dampness • Xing Ren - clears phlegm/nodules • Sheng Di Huang nourishes yin and essence • Tao Ren for blood stasis and Shao Yao to tonify. |
