Directions: 1) Add all ingredients to pot except for Gui Jia Jiao (Gui Ban). 2) Add 5 cups of water. 3) [first pass] Boil until 1 cup of liquid remains (1.5-2 hours). 4) Strain the liquid into a large bowl and stir in the crushed Gui Ban until dissolved. 5) [second pass] Add 3 cups of water and boil until about 1 cup of liquid remains (~1 hour). Add strained liquid to brew. 6)[third pass] Add another 3 cups of water and boil until 1 cup of liquid remains (~1 hour). Add to mixture. 7) Let the brew cool, then refrigerate. • Dosage: 1/4 cup of brew mixed with hot water. 2X/day. Before meals.  

Caution
ALERT: Contraindications of each herb - use with caution under these conditions:
Ren Shen: Blood thinner medication • Diabetes medication • Blood pressure medication • Caffeine • Yin deficiency • Stagnant fire • Hypertension • Bleeding disorders • Pain in chest • Excess heat • food: onion, garlic, radishes, tea, turnips
Lu Rong: Yin Deficiency Heat, Lung Phlegm Heat, Stomach Fire, Excess Heat
Gui Ban Jiao: pregnancy • damp cold • diarrhea
Huang Qi: Autoimmune diseases • Exterior excess • Qi stagnation • Damp obstruction • Food stagnation • Yin deficiency
Shu Di Huang: Cloying • Pregnancy • Spleen and/or Stomach deficiency • Stagnant phlegm • Stagnant qi • food: onion, garlic, radishes
Huai Niu Xi: Pregnancy, Spleen deficiency diarrhea, Kidney Qi deficiency, profuse menstrual bleeding, spematorrhea
