| Commentary: Jing Ling Zi = Chuan Lian Zi; Pain should be the main indication for this formula. Yan Hu Suo is for pain in many parts of the body. Chuan Lian Zi is for cold. This is for Liver constraint transforming into heat. Pain is aggravated by ingesting hot food or beverages.[Kim] |

| NCCAOM: There are 7 NCCAOM formulas for Qi Stagnation. They are Yuè Jū Wán, Chái Hú Shū Gān Sǎn, Bàn Xià Hòu Pó Tāng, Liáng Fù Wán, Jīn Líng Zǐ Sǎn, Tiān Tái Wū Yào Sǎn, and Nuǎn Gān Jiān. • Yue Ju Wan is for all 6 stagnations (Qi, Blood, Phlegm, Damp, Fire and Food). Only for excess. Depression. • Chai Hu Shu Gan San is LV Qi Yu -> pain. This formula includes Si Ni San, which is for LV Qi Stagnation overacting on SP causing cold extremities. Don’t confuse Si Ni San with Si Ni Tang, which is for KD Yang Deficiency Cold • Ban Xia Hou Po Tang is LV Qi Yu + Phlegm -> Plum Pit Qi. • Liang Fu Wan is LV Qi Yu + ST Cold -> Pain. Liang Fu Wan is only two herbs (Gao Lian Jiang + Xiang Fu) • Jin Ling Zi San =LV Qi Yu + Heat -> Pain. Jin Ling Zi San is also two herbs (Chuan Lian Zi + Yan Hu Suo). Jin Ling Zi is antoehr name for Chuan Lian Zi. • Tian Tai Wu Yan Sao = LV Qi Stagnation + Cold. Lower abdominal pain radiating to the testis. • Nuan Gan Jian = LV & KD deficiency Cold. Hernia disorder or swollen painful scrotum. All these formulas are related to Liver Qi Stagnation except for Nuan Gan Jian, which is LV deficiency. |
