Commentary: For Yin deficiency thirst and want to drink water, but can not satisfy thirst. Often seen with breast cancer patients after radiation and lymph edema, or harmonal imbalance. Hot flashes and swelling. Different from Wu Ling San in that it works with Yin Deficiency Heat. Hua Shi clears heat. E Jiao nourish Yin blood. This is not a heat clearing formula. It can not be used for excessive heat. Wu Ling San and Zhu Ling Tang are commonly used for water retention. Both focus on water retention symptoms.
