Case  neuropathy - lower leg, feet

Chief Complaints

🅗 9/17/24: 1. neuropathy in legs and feet, tingling, numbness; 2. thumb arthritis pain, congestion

Diagnosis

🅗 9/17/24: Qi and Blood stagnation with heat, Phlegm accumulation in the middle jiao, SP Qi Xu, external wind cold

Treatment

🅗 9/17/24: Move qi and blood, clear heat, transform phlegm, tonify SP, dispel wind cold

Acupuncture

🅗 9/17/24: ⒷShen Men, Estim (ST36 ➞SP6), Estim (SP3➞BL65), ST40, SP9, Ba Feng, LI4, Local points for thumb (Korean hand needle), LI20➞Bitong, ear apex bleeding, Yin Tang. ⓁAshi point/trigger release of QL(quadratus lumborum).

Herbs

Notes

QL (quadratus lumborum)-deep muscle in lower back one either side of the spine. It extends from the lowest rib to the top of the pelvis. The QL helps stabilize the spine and pelvis, and allows for back extension, lateral flexion, hip hiking, and forced exhalation. Use the "raise leg test": ask patient to stand up, put both hands on the ilial crest in the back. As patient to lift one leg, then the other. If the QL is weak on the left, you should see the right thumb drop.
